Are you getting tired of using your old phone?

Here are a few simple and easy steps that you need to follow before you give your phone away. Make sure to follow them all completely to stay out of any kind of trouble.

  • Create a data backup

If you have used your old phone for some time now, there would be a lot of important things that you would like to save. It could include your important photos, emails, messages, memos, and documents that you would not want to lose at any cost. So first transfer them to some place like a cloud or some hard drive and then move on to the next step.

  • Sign out of all the accounts

Every phone has a lot of apps and most of them have your accounts with your personal information in them as well. so the best thing to do, to stay safe, is to sign out of all those accounts. This could include your social media accounts, email and messenger, banking accounts, shopping, and other such accounts. Signing out of them is important because no one would be able to access those accounts.

  • Remove the pairing

If your phone is linked to any other devices such as speakers, laptops, printers, or similar, un-pair it and get everything cleared before you are ready to give the phone away.

  • Remove the SIM card

Your SIM card has a lot of important information in it, such as contacts and messages from important people and places. Carefully remove the SIM card and check if some information or contacts are left on the phone.

  • Factory reset

Once you have done all of the above steps, the last thing to do is to factory reset or completely reset your phone. Now it will be in a new condition and it would be good as new if you would give it to someone else. This way, the chances of losing any personal and important information get pretty thin and you can have peace of mind as well.
